The mission of the Asian Resource Center (ARC) is to educate, promote, and encourage the interaction and dialogue among the diverse ethnic groups within the Asian American community at UCSB. The Center provides a supportive environment for students, staff, faculty, and community members to develop an appreciation for one's identity and to affirm an institutional commitment that recognizes one’s community.
The Asian Resource Center was first proposed as a student-service location for UCSB in 1997. Today it has a permanent home on the ground floor of the Student Resource Building. It’s a meeting place, activity center, and more than that—it’s a place to kick back, study and meet with friends.
Not so incidentally, it also houses a library of Asian Pacific American books, videos, photos, student group information, and events. But it’s here for all students who attend UCSB.
