Note

Traditionally, STTP has been a live-in residential program, however, following social distancing and University guidelines, we will be offering STTP remotely this summer. Some changes to the program description below will be adjusted for the virtual environment, however, EOP remains committed to providing incoming transfer students with network-building opportunities, mentorship with current transfer students and opportunities to connect with EOP staff as well as other staff from various UCSB campus departments.

Program Description

The Summer Transfer Transition Program (STTP) is ten day virtual  summer  program for incoming transfer students in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). The purpose of STTP is to facilitate the transition of EOP transfer students to UCSB. Students will be attending academic, social and career focused workshops and programs to provide opportunities to learn outside the classroom. Students discover ways to enrich their college experience and cultivate a sense of belonging at UCSB.

STTP Participants are required to attend all workshops and evening activities throughout the program. The time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week.

This year, STTP will feature the following workshops:

  • Welcome to the Quarter System
  • What is a research university?
  • Graduate school 101
  • Thriving not Surviving Graduate School Panel
  • Transfer Career Conference
  • Navigating Financial Aid & BARC
  • Evening social activities such as Coffee & Community, Game Nights, and more!

*Once admitted into STTP, you will receive a full program calendar.
