If you are a first-generation and/or income-eligible student, what has your experience been like at UCSB?

EOP & OBSD and many other resources have been very helpful to my experience as a first-generation and income-eligible student. Counselors and other organizations have helped me to find my community and exposed me to amazing opportunities on campus.

What would you like to share with students about your experience at UCSB?

I would like to share all the resources that have helped me be successful in my time at UCSB along with tips I've learned through my experience so far.

Top tips for fellow students? (Study tips, self care hacks, fav resources on campus, etc)

Instead of cramming for mid-terms/finals one week before, try to incorporate studying a little at a time weekly so you can soak up information in increments instead of a quarter's worth of info in one week.

Best advice you've received that has helped you at UCSB.

Don't be afraid to reach out to EOP counselors because they can help with academics, financials, personal, etc, and make your college experience a lot easier.

Why did you choose to be an EOP office assistant?

Because EOP has been so helpful during my time at UCSB, I want to be able to provide students with that assistance throughout the year. Being an office assistant will allow me to learn more about the internal mechanisms of EOP as an organization and use that knowledge to help them.
