If you are a first-generation and/or income-eligible student, what has your experience been like at UCSB?

My college experience has been very new and interesting since the beginning. My parents went to college in Korea so I’m the second sibling to go to college in America! It’s definitely like finding a second home away from home!

What would you like to share with students about your experience at UCSB?

I love how culturally diverse UCSB! There are so many cultural groups that are so welcoming especially if you are from a different country!

Top tips for fellow students?

A big tip for students is to rely on all the resources that the school provides like counseling and wellness centers. It helps you empty your mind and be the healthiest version of yourself!

Best advice you've received that has helped you at UCSB?

The best advice is to not live your life in regret and to keep pushing!

Why did you choose to be an EOP peer mentor?

I chose to be an EOP mentor because I want students who are not able to culturally adjust to college in America to feel at home!
