If you are a first-generation and/or income-eligible student, what has your experience been like at UCSB?
It has been a struggle learning how to navigate college life and it often feels isolating. I find so much comfort in knowing that I have the EOP program's support in anything I choose to do.
What would you like to share with students about your experience at UCSB?
UCSB is such a beautiful place, in the chaos that is college life, sometimes it's hard to be present. Make sure to stop, look around, and breathe sometimes and to take in the beauty and remain present.
Top tips for fellow students? (Study tips, self care hacks, fav resources on campus, etc)
Prioritize schoolwork and classes over having fun; also allow yourself to experience new and exciting things!
Best advice you've received that has helped you at UCSB.
If someone tells you something that you don't like, go to someone else. Never take no for an answer.
Why did you choose to be an EOP peer mentor/office assistant?
I wanted to be an office assistant because the EOP office has helped me remain at UCSB and I have no idea what I would have done without it. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to give back to my community!
