Summer Transfer Transition Program (STTP) helps EOP transfers adjust to student life at UCSB through fully in-person opportunities to build a support-network with current transfer students and the UCSB staff who serve our student community.

Program Description

The Summer Transfer Transition Program (STTP) is a summer residential program for incoming transfer students in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). The purpose of STTP is to facilitate the transition of EOP transfer students to UCSB. Students will attend academic, social, and career-focused workshops and programs to provide opportunities to learn outside of the classroom. Students discover ways to enrich their college experience and cultivate a sense of belonging at UCSB.

STTP Participants are required to attend all workshops and evening activities throughout the program. The time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours for the week of programming.

This year, STTP will feature the following workshops:

  • Welcome to the Quarter System
  • What is a research university?
  • Graduate school 101
  • Thriving not Surviving Graduate School Panel
  • Transfer Career Conference
  • Navigating Financial Aid & BARC
  • Evening social activities such as Coffee & Community, Game Nights, and more!

*Once admitted into STTP, you will receive a full program calendar.

Program Highlights

Be amongst a select few EOP transfer students to stay before the fall quarter begins and become familiar with the campus community.
Visit campus departments such as Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Career Services, Student Health, and more!
Connect with other EOP transfer students to build social and support networks before school starts.
Meet various UCSB staff members including EOP counselors to understand access to resources and boost your comfort level on campus.

We would like to thank all of our campus partners, including Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Billing Office, College of Letters and Science, Transfer Student Center, major academic departments, among many others who have made STTP a success as an in-residence program. Also, a special shoutout to our amazing team leaders, office assistant and residential assistants, all of whom continue to model student leadership and excellence for our transfer students!
